I had an idea today as I was leaving Ruchee Express where I had lunch. My plan is to start a collective of Richmond City residents to decrease the material waste that is produced by local restaurants. If we can reduce the amount of recyclable material thrown out by restaurants we can make an impact not only on the environment, but open up a new world of possibilities regarding waste management.
I will be trying to organize a volunteer effort of residents of Richmond to approach restaurants and with their consent place recycling bins inside these restaurants and also propose to remove and replace them on a normal basis.
